Kylie McMahon
Kylie McMahon began Irish dancing at the age of 5 with Zeph Caissie after being inspired by a performance by the Nova Scotia Irish Dancers. She quickly fell in love with the style, energy, and rhythm of the art form. She is passionate about passing on the love of dancing to others and finds it rewarding to watch younger dancers grow and help develop their own passions.
Since age 9, Kylie has competed at the highest competition level, Open Champion, at regional, national, international, and world championships. A highlight of her career includes earning Atlantic Canada’s first recall medal at the World Irish Dance Championships, and qualifying for worlds 5 times. Kylie is currently ranked 3rd in Eastern Canada and 5th in North America. In 2024, she was awarded a scholarship to attend the Riverdance Summer School in Boston, an experience that further deepened her passion for performance.
Kylie’s performance highlights include having the opportunity to be the lead dancer with the Nova Scotia Irish Dancers junior troupe in the 2019 Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. She has been volunteering as an assistant teacher since the age of 11, helping to inspire the next generation of dancers. She has also completed 11 CLRG grade exams and hopes to become a certified teacher in the future.
Beyond achievements and competitions, Kylie cherishes the friendships, experiences, and memories she has gained through Irish dance. She enjoys every class, loves working on the little details at home to improve her technique, and hopes others fall in love with Irish Dance the same way she did.
